Artist description:

Alan King, (1946-2013)

Alan King was born in 1946 and studied at the Glasgow School of Art from 1964 until 1968. After a career teaching art, he started painting full time in 1999. He is best known for his paintings which feature the ‘Red Hat’ and this continues to be a major theme to his contemporary paintings. King’s skill in story telling and a love of early Italian Art are the roots of the development of his fine paintings. Alan is a member of the Paisley Art Institute and the Glasgow Art Club.
