Description

Artist description:

Artist and book illustrator, Knud Mühlhausen’s early paintings are reminiscent of the work of the French artist Pierre Bonnard. His style ranged from the use of quiet, lyrical forms to the abstract use of geometric shapes in bright colours. He first came to prominence through an exhition held in 1951; he was co-founder of the Danish M59 Group and contributed to the formation of the country’s Visual Artists Association in 1970.
