Description: a framed, mounted and glazed limited edition print no. 17/20. Pencil signed bottom right. In very good condition but mount needs replacing.

Artist description:
The Danish painter, ceramicist and graphic artist Arne L. Hansen grew up in Copenhagen and attended the city’s Academy of Art in the period 1938-1945. He shared his artistic life between Zealand and Skagen and made his debut at Charlotte’s Spring Exhibition in 1945. He was particularly interested in the relationship between art and architecture and starting in the late 1950s, he undertook a wide range of ceramic decoration projects, executed in glazed stoneware, on factory, church and public buildings.
As an artist, his starting point was naturalism, but it was modernism, with its focus on colour, form and line that won Arne Hansen’s interest. His style gradually became more and more abstract with inspiration drawn from such diverse regions and environments as Copenhagen and Skagen; heavy iron industry and the countryside around Råbjerg where, since 1960, he had a permanent summer residence.
